Becoming a parent for the first time includes many exhausted middle-of-the-night moments of overwhelm when you just want to be able to ask an expert what to do. During one of those late-night moments with her now-8-month-old daughter Ray, Enablement Manager Destiny turned to Maven—at the time, a new benefit offered by her employer, ServiceTitan—and it was a “lifesaver”.
We talked to Destiny about all things parenting, her return-to-work during the pandemic, and what Maven has meant to her and her family.
Tell us about the first time you used Maven.
Destiny: I first used Maven when my daughter, Ray, was two months old and we were in desperate need of specialized sleep coaching. We turned to our Maven sleep coach again recently as Ray’s sleep had become completely unsustainable and we were so overwhelmed. Just to hear the guidance from our Maven sleep coach made us feel better, and she gave us an action plan that we’ve used quite a bit. It was incredible to feel like we knew what to do the next time we woke up to take care of Ray, and it really helped our sanity to not have to try to make decisions in the middle of the night with a crying baby.
How would you describe Maven to a colleague or friend?
Destiny: So many parent resources out there are opinions and forums. But Maven has experts! There are providers who are qualified to give you guidance and they have specializations, so you can bring a very specific question to a Maven provider and they are able to give you a very specific answer. That is so helpful because, as a new parent, you don’t have time to try to find experts, or if you have some kind of emergency or there’s something that isn’t really working, you usually don’t know what to do or where to go for help. It’s incredible to know that there will be an expert on my Maven app that has knowledge in whatever my parenting issue is, and I can likely get an answer today.
What does it mean to you that ServiceTitan provides Maven?
Destiny: I can’t imagine having another child without the amazing benefits ServiceTitan provides like Maven. I really don’t know what I would do without Maven as a parent. As somebody who had advocated for more support for new parents with ServiceTitan’s People team, I felt like I had been heard when they rolled out Maven.
